Close the garage door and pull the emergency release.
You will feel it disengage as well as visually see the small spring on the lever open up.
Disengage the garage door from the motor or in other words put the door into manual mode.
Then clamp as described above.
Use the emergencyrelease rope to disconnect the opener from the door and push the door up as faras you can without damaging the opener.
The springs do not pull with enough force to open the door but they do take the strain of most of the door s weight.
