Gutter Between Column Latex

I have looked up all the posts about the edas and gutter problems but i could not figure out the problem.

I have tried onecolumn and twocolumn but they create a page break. The gutter between columns is 0 155 inches wide on page 4 but should be at least 0 2 inches. Therefore to add a separator line it suffices to change the width of the column separator rule using the setlength macro. I am using a twocolumn article class for my document documentclass a4paper 10pt twocolumn article and can some body tell me what is the default columns width for this class and what is the default space between the columns i want my document columns to be 3 1 16 inches 7 85 cm wide and with a 3 8 inch 0 81 cm space between them.

If you need more flexibility in the column layout or to create a document with multiple columns the package multicol provides a set of commands for that. Two column documents can be easily created by passing the parameter twocolumn to the document class statement. The author text is placed within a tabular environment.

By default there is no separator line between columns neither with the twocolumn option nor with the multicol package. Is there a way to satisfy edas submission check in this scenario. Headings and page numbers are not displayed in the headers or footers. Size to ensure an integer number of lines in a column.

This coupled with symmetric hori zontal margins means that there will not be a noticeable difference between the one and two sided options.
